Once in a while we find people and organizations doing great things in our community, throughout the country, and around the world. We aim to make their work even better with the support of our expertise and our help in developing their content. We roll up our sleeves so we can share inspiration and offer a little consistency and pizazz for the materials non-profits use to represent their organization, mission, or outreach.
RWANDA GIRLS INITIATIVE
Writing Mentoring
In conjunction with the Gashora Girls Academy of Science and Technology, Boulder Bookworks supports the important work of the Rwanda Girls Initiative by mentoring the research and writing of the young women as they prepare to embark on post-high-school higher education at universities around the world.
YOUNG COMPOSER’S PLAYGROUND
We’re working in partnership with Colorado’s Young Composer’s Playground, a program that puts the music composition ideas of K–12 public school and summer camp students on the music stands of professional musicians to perform in front of large audiences.
Boulder Bookworks gets immersed in the final performance of a Young Composers Playground program at Doull Elementary School, Denver.
We’re in the peanut gallery with 3rd-grade students’ siblings and their parents during a full-house performance of student compositions.
TARA PERFORMING ARTS HIGH SCHOOL
Teaching Portal – Writing as a Performing Art
We jumped at the opportunity to take our experience working with authors into a classroom in our community to help emerging citation experts hone their craft for college. Students wrote their own original research essays and got a glimpse into what responsibilities go along with being a published author.
Click below to see how we designed a student portal to facilitate student engagement and outline a process for teaching research paper writing techniques.
